smiles...

my smile for the day:
Caitlyn's new routine is she tucks daddy in and then she goes to bed. Weird but works. When he tucked her in, it was endless call backs for kisses, hugs, love you's,... and marshmallow daddy can't say GOODNIGHT and leave for good.
So one night, a month or so ago, daddy wasn't feeling his best and had laid down very early and when it was Caitlyn's bed time I told her daddy was already in bed and I would tuck her in. She went to peek at daddy and covered him with a blankie and kissed him and went right to bed. SO I decided, hey this could be a great idea in the making! So now he has to pretend to go to bed every night and sometimes naptime if he is home :) She tucks him in and says all the sweet nothings she can think of and oh does it wrap daddy and mommy around her finger :) She might sing him Jesus love me softly; she might just rub his cheek and tell him don't cry... your sleep is sweet. Peace.... Last night she rubbed his cheek and said, "you are a widdle angel, sweet widdle angel... night night..." And I stifled a laugh... as sweet as it was, daddy is a pretty goofy looking angel :) Then he started laughing too...
But this is bringing us a smile every night... She is such a sweetheart.

That is just the sweetest. We have problems getting Eli to sleep at night. He always wants to sleep in 'Momma's Bed' instead of his own and he cries out for kisses, cuddles and a drink. It is always stressful. Maybe I should have him tuck me in.

Oh this post had sweetness just oozing from it! I love that story and it gives me ideas to stop the madness around here! Everyone wants daddy to read stories and tell tales...he is the mushy one:)
There is nothing better than a daddy's girl. I agree with melanie, your kids are as sweet as you are!

K & A now say at beditime, "mommy, it's late"......and off to bed we go. It is cute. Daddy told me yesterday they were asking for their naps! That NEVER happens for me. lol.
