my smile for the day

Jacob is such a treasure to me...
I wanted to blog this while it is fresh in my thoughts... Today we were at lunch at a favorite of the kids, a pizza place. We met Daddy, so it was the entire family. Suddenly, the conversation turned into Ryan going to college in a few years. I said something to the effect of, Jacob you can have Ryan's room and then we can adopt Carsen (the name for my treasure I dream and pray about. I always name them way before they are home ;), I did that when I was a little girl too...) anyway... Jacob started boohooing and saying he DID NOT want Ryan to go away and he did not like Ryan's room, he liked HIS room, Chloe then piped in she would take it, she thought it was snuggly . Ryan being a teen, thinks the whole world is watching and gets embarrassed if any of the kids have an outburst in public, starts saying hush!!!! Jacob gets louder... Finally I say ok Jacob, Ryan isn't leaving its ok... Ryan then says we don't need any more treasures until he leaves home. He and Daddy to 4 think our treasure chest is overflowing now... Jacob screams Carsen needs us! She doesn't have a family and I am going to be her big brother!!!
He is a very passionate child... I love that about him...
Anyway everything calms down and later on the way home Jacob has obviously kept all of this in his thoughts apparently, because he suddenly says, I guess I will take Ryan's room if you can put a cradle in there for Carsen, so I can take care of her. But we have to take Ryan's girl pictures out of his room because they are nasty and I don't like them!
(Which I promise Ryan does not have anything I would consider nasty in his room so I thought this was funny too. )

As we get ready for the holidays I would love for you to consider giving a donation to Love Without Boundaries Nutrition Program help feed some of those darling China Treasures we all love... If everyone gives just a small donation forThanksgiving it will add up!
Also don't forget this is Operation Christmas Child drop off week, this link will take you to a site that will tell you of a drop off near you and give you ideas for your box. My kids LOVE filling up a box of goodies for a child.

Uh, first one commenting, I feel important LOL!
You really have such sweet kids, they all are so sweet, I guess they've learnt that of you. I did not know you wanted to add another treasure to your family but, I hope you can do that! At least, you already know you'll have help from the kids :-)
Happy Thanksgiving (since I saw at Denna's blog It's Thanksgiving LOL)
Oh, and the thing about Nasty pictures just cracked me out, where do they get those ideas? LOL!

Wonderful post. Our oldest is 15 and we are starting to talk about when he will be going off to college. It gets me all teary eyed though. I can't imagine having him in my day to day life. We'll be doing some room shuffling then too.

What a sensitive boy he is! My son is a sensitive and loving young man also. He and his girlfriend teach 2nd grade Sunday School and your Jacob reminds me so much of him when you speak about his personality. I will begin praying for a new treasure also for you!
