Pumpkin Patch Fun

The pumpkin patch we went to this weekend really isn't a farm. It is a railroad. You go on a 30 min train ride and arrive at a little place they have set up with pumpkins, a moonwalk, little hay maze, face painting, and short hayride. The kids love trains and loved riding on a 'real' one.

They all got their face painted, Caitlyn watched Jacob and Chloe and then sat SO still for her little pumpkin. Chloe of course couldn't get a little something on her cheek but had to have an entire kitty face. We spent so much time doing the face painting and just running around looking at the pumpkins and of course mommy forcing everyone for pictures, that we almost missed the last hayride. It looked full, but Caitlyn had a meltdown when we started walking away telling her it was too full and the man said "come back, we will make room!" "we want everyone to have fun!", We had to sit squished and in the floor. Of course someone made room beside them for Princess Caitlyn. We also met a little baby girl from Hubei China and her family. Its always fun to meet another family that has shared the miracle of adoption.

We had a wonderful time and can't wait to go to the next one!

The railroad also has a Polar Express ride for Christmas. I think we will make reservations and go since the kids enjoyed their train ride so much.

  • Oh I love the pictures! Jacob looks so cute in his orange/white striped polo! Very festive!
I have heard the Polar Express ride is a blast. The kids wear their jammies and drink hot chocolate and then Santa is waiting at the end of the ride. We have never done it, but maybe this will be the year!
Thank you for the advice on pumpkin patches! We need to find a weekday one, since our weekends are completely full until Halloween.
Your "pumpkins" are precious, and I would love to have met the Hubei girl since both of my China pumpkins are from there!
    Love,
