Thursday reminiscing

Today I have a friend in China that just met her little boy yesterday, and another friend leaving for China to meet her daughter in just a couple of days. It has made me reminisce of our referral time and travel. I know some that read have never seen Caitlyn\'s first pics so thought I would share. I will never forget how happy Danny was when he called me after meeting Caitlyn and bringing her back to the room. He was SOO in love. It brought me such joy and peace. When you are half way round the world from each other and your husband is meeting your daughter for the first time without you; you can have alot of butterflies or bats running around your stomach! He called at like 5 in the morning and said oh Connie she is perfect! and I suppose I heard that phrase over 100 times while he was in China. Ryan and my mom traveled with Danny and upon the arrival back in the states when they arrived at Chicago there were not enough seats on the plane for everyone to come home. You can imagine how exhausted and how desperate you would be to get home to hear such yucky news. They had one seat, my mom and Caitlyn came home while Danny and Ryan stayed overnight until the first plane out the next morning. I was so concerned about Caitlyn having to meet me without her daddy after creating a bond with him but all was well. My mom got off the plane with her and gave her straight to me. Chloe started boo-hooing and she and Jacob both were SO in love with the baby sister they had talked about for over 2 years. Just as when being handed Chloe, I could not believe how tiny this darling baby was. She was a little over 13 lbs at 11 months old. Soo tiny. and so beautiful. Those beautiful eyes I had dreamed about and had fell in love with. Such a wonderful memory... Anyway we brought her home and it was around 10pm. My dear mother was exhausted and in need of rest so she only stayed a moment. My brother and family had came with us to the airport and home with us as well to greet their new niece. I had wonderful friends that had prepared a meal thinking Danny and Ryan would be arriving home as well and would want some yummy home cooked food, as well as made a beautiful welcome home sign for my darling. At last we were all alone with this sweet baby we had talked about and talked about. We put her pj\'s on and the kids took her up to the playroom and she had to see EVERY toy and have a tea party. After all when you are 4 and have heard you are going to have a sister for over 2 years, all you have dreamed about is having a tea party with your sister! She never really got upset or anything, and at midnight we all decided to go to bed and she went to sleep and slept until after 10AM the next morning and her daddy was home from the airport at like 8AM so she hardly knew he was missing! :)
